I made some simple cornbread today using a recipe from Beth Hensperger's "The Bread Bible". I was pretty pleased with it. Now if I can just get my hands on a cast iron skillet. . .  Posted by Hello

I'd send you one of my skillets (I have two that are the same size, thanks to an inheritance) but it would cost more to mail than it would for you to buy a new one. It weighs like 87 kajillion tons.

Aw thanks Brian, but you're right about the shipping! I know they're actually pretty cheap, so it's just a matter of remembering to pick one up next time I see one.

Check out yard sales, most ppl give them away not realizing what a treasure they are. Or spend 25 bucks total at amazon and get free shipping. They are pretty cheap over there. The Lodge press is good too, its made of cast iron and is great for pressing bacon or paninis
